Augean PLC has achieved certification of its Integrated Management System (IMS) for its landfill operations to the following internationally recognised management system standards through BSI Management Systems UK (BSI):
BSI is a global provider of management systems assessment, certification and training services. Founded over 100 years ago, BSI has led the way in developing management systems standards.
The certificate was presented by Neil Hannah (left), Managing Director of BSI Management Systems UK to Abigail Piddington, Group Compliance Manager (centre) and Peter Worlledge, Chief Executive (Right).
Peter Worlledge stated that “this achievement signals our commitment to achieving recognised business standards that demonstrate excellence in all facets of the business operation”.
From the outset Augean has adopted strong ethical and professional standards of operation with a commitment to developing and maintaining management systems such as ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 throughout the business. Consistent with other leading responsible businesses, we report our performance for the attention of our stakeholders and the wider public in our annual Corporate Social Responsibility report.
The IMS is being progressively implemented within Augean’s Treatment Division. Phase 1 of the Certification process was successfully undertaken during May 2007 with the continued objective of full certification before the end of the current year.
