The purpose of scoping is to help identify issues to be considered in the Environmental Impact Assessment and the degree of detail necessary to assess the impacts.
The Scoping Consultation was initially undertaken in May/June 2011 whereby scoping reports were submitted to Northamptonshire County Council, prior to undertaking community engagement and a full Environmental Impact Assessment, as follows:

Due to some misunderstandings of the purpose of the consultation by a few of the respondents the County repeated the exercise in August 2011.
