This site operates a transfer station allowing the acceptance of mixed loads and the segregation and storage of these containers before they are sent as full loads to other Augean facilities for further processing.

The site has become a Hipod distribution centre where the site exchanges Hipods at customer sites south of Leeds/Manchester returning full Hipods to site for transferring up to the Paisley site for processing of the waste contents.

Hinckley, also offers a secure destruction process where waste consumer products (including those out date or out of specification) and other sensitive materials can be disposed of safely and once processed, are irretrievable and bear no resemblance to the original waste to prevent their return to market through unauthorised routes.

In addition, plans are being finalised for the setting up of an agreement with a waste disposal operator allowing us to send flammable sludges and solids to continental Europe where they can be recovered or used in replacement fuels. This is known as transfrontier shipment or TFS. This allows the group to be self-sufficient in its handling of flammable sludges and solids generated from Avonmouth and contained in mixed loads brought in by our customers. Hinckley will be the group’s distribution centre for these waste types. The site currently operates a TFS for the return of used laboratory chemicals to Germany and is considered an appropriate site for this new service due to its location and the relevant experience of its staff.
