Laboratory Testing

Management of waste is becoming more complex with legislation driving stricter controls to ensure that there is no harm to the environment or to human health.

With these higher standards brings the need to both understand in greater detail the composition of waste and also its behaviour when processed or disposed.

Augean PLC has invested not only in the most advanced analytical equipment but also in highly qualified chemists to provide an accurate and detailed testing capacity for the Groups clients.

The Laboratory Services team are able to provide analytical capabilities for a broad range of clients whether its characterisation and composition reports or the need for the new testing regime for wastes destined for landfill.

Our Technical Sales Advisors can advise you on all waste streams testing & sampling requirements to satisfy your duty of care.

Chemist surveys

Supported by the laboratory services team Augean PLC can provide a mobile Chemist service where surveys and sampling are required.

For wastes destined for landfill

Augean laboratory Services has been constructed and equipped to perform the range of BS EN 12457 waste characterisation tests with the focus on delivering an efficient sample turnaround of 10 days.

There are three kinds of WAC:

  • Lists of acceptable wastes (those that do not have to be tested)
  • Numerical leaching limit values
  • Numerical limit values for other parameters.

laboratory testingFor wastes which fail WAC

If a waste stream has undergone WAC testing and the results demonstrate a limit value failure the laboratory will automatically refer the waste stream to our Treatment division in order that the waste stream can be assessed for further treatment at one of our treatment, transfer and recycling centres.

For wastes composition

Where a waste stream requires detailed composition analysis in order to determine the specific components in the waste to conclude a full technical assessment the laboratory services team can offer a broad range of analytical capabilities.

For site investigation reports

Essential in delivering an extensive and detailed report on brownfield land developments is the integrated management of information at the start of the project to ensure rapid and appropriate decisions can be made.  With the Laboratory

Services team a one stop shop approach has been designed so that the client can achieve sampling, composition testing and where required WAC testing all under one roof and focused on delivering in an accurate, timely and efficient manner.

Each sample forwarded to our Laboratory must be accompanied by our Chain of Custody Form.

The Labs opening times are 8.30am to 5.00pm and is based at our Kings Cliffe site allowing receipt of deliveries from 7.00am.
