The more we understand the composition of waste and its behaviour through our processes, the greater our ability to minimise its impacts on the wider environment.
We have invested heavily in the latest technology and in highly-trained chemists to provide our clients timely and accurately analytical data about their waste streams.
The Laboratory Services team are able to provide analytical capabilities from waste characterisation and composition testing and the new waste acceptance criteria (WAC) testing regime for wastes destined for landfill.
Analytical capabilities include:
- Inductively Coupled Plasma – Optical Emission Spectrophotometer (ICP OES) used primarily to determine metals
- Gas Chromatogram Mass Spectrometer (GCMS) used to quantify and identify organic compounds
- Gas Chromatogram (GC) used to quantify organic compounds
- Ion Chromatogram (IC) used for anions such as Chloride and Sulphate
- Broad range of laboratory techniques
A chain of custody form should be completed and delivered with your sample and once received at our laboratory it is analysed to generate data for pre-acceptance assessment. Our laboratory has consistently out performed our competitors in sample turnaround and we can usually provide you with your data and a disposal or treatment option in less than 10 working days from sample collection.
Chemist surveys
Supported by the laboratory services team we can provide a mobile chemist where surveys and sampling are required.
