Augean operates a specialist fleet of collection and vacuumation vehicles providing a nationwide collection network.

We understand that every business involved in the supply chain for dangerous goods by road has specific and defined safety responsibilities and have a duty of care to protect people and the environment from risk or damage.

There are numerous legislation documents for the safe transporting of hazardous waste as well as the safety of our drivers, as a registered waste carrier authorised by the Environment Agency and Scottish Environmental Protection Agency, a few of our responsibilities are listed below:

  • our drivers and crews are suitably ADR trained
  • packaging is of an approved type as required by UN packaging standards, and goods are properly labelled
  • our vehicles show the correct vehicle placarding and marking according to the type of goods being carried
  • proper procedures/risk assessments are followed during loading and unloading of the goods
  • specified equipment is available at the point of loading and unloading, and carried on the vehicle as required
  • produce the legal consignment note to transported throughout the movement of your waste
  • we employ Dangerous Goods Safety Advisers whose core activity is provision and guidance on the movement of dangerous goods
  • tachographs are installed in our vehicles, these record information about driving time, speed and distance. This information is used to monitor compliance with drivers' hours rules
  • Road Transport Security Plans generated with the assistance of VOSA
