Waste sampling and pre-assessment service

Management of waste is becoming more complex with legislation driving stricter controls to ensure that there is no harm to the environment or to human health, thus developing the need for stringent pre-acceptance and analytical testing regimes for your waste.

The Environment Agency have begun a National Campaign targeting waste producers, waste facilities and waste brokers to ensure that they are fulfilling their requirements in this regard and taking action against those who do not.

What is pre-acceptance?

Pre-acceptance is the technical evaluation process that has to take place prior to waste being accepted at a waste management facility.  A waste producer must provide to their chosen waste manager the following information prior to either disposal or treatment:

  1. The nature of the process producing the waste
  2. The composition of the waste – chemical constituents and their concentrations
  3. The handling requirements for the waste stream
  4. The hazards associated with the waste stream
  5. The EWC for the waste stream

To assist our clients further in managing their waste streams safely and with assurance Augean now provide a waste sampling and courier service.  We will provide you with a quick, efficient, and same day service for the sampling of hazardous waste and its transport to our laboratories for pre-acceptance evaluation and assessment.

Samples will be taken by our trained technical sales team and will be packaged and labelled in accordance with safety guidelines.  All waste samples are trackable throughout transit and will be moved by our appointed courier City Link.

Once your waste is received at our laboratory it is analysed to generate data for pre-acceptance assessment.  Our laboratory has consistently out performed our competitors in sample turnaround and we can usually provide you with your data and a disposal or treatment option in less than 10 working days from sample collection.
